The FAIRTRADE Mark is a registered trademark of Fairtrade International (FLO). The trademark serves as a certification label for products sourced from producers in developing countries. The FAIRTRADE Mark is intended for use only on product packaging through a licence agreement issued by a national Fairtrade Labelling Initiative (LI) or FLO.
For a product to display the FAIRTRADE Mark it must meet international Fairtrade standards. These standards are agreed through a process of research and consultation with key participants in the Fairtrade system, including producers, traders, NGOs, labelling initiatives and producer networks such as Fairtrade Africa.
It is important to note that the Mark certifies product ingredients, not the companies or organisations selling the products.
