Harriet Lamb takes the helm of Fairtrade international

Harriet Lamb is the new Chief Executive Officer of Fairtrade international. Having served for over 10 years as the Executive Director of Fairtrade Foundation in the UK, where she and her team have built the world’s most dynamic market for Fairtrade products, Harriet brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Marieke de Peña, Vice-Chair of Fairtrade International’s Board and manager of a small farmer cooperative growing bananas in the Dominican Republic, is delighted with the appointment:‘As a representative of the farmers and workers involved in Fairtrade, I am delighted to see Harriet take up the reins of Fairtrade International. As Fairtrade grows globally, she is just what we need to keep our diverse stakeholders powerfully connected to our vision and mission.’

Harriet’s appointment was a unanimous decision by the Board of Fairtrade International, following a rigorous six-month recruitment and selection process. She will take up her new role with Fairtrade International by 1 October 2012.
