Country partnerships

Country partnerships are organised groups of Fairtrade certified producers and development partners. By becoming organised the producers have a more coordinated voice in Fairtrade Africa and in the Fairtrade system and are able to take advantage of local support and market opportunities.

Aims of county partnerships

  • To provide a platform for certified producers to network amongst themselves and with other development actors
  • To ensure that Fairtrade producers are effectively represented within the Fairtrade system via Fairtrade Africa through effective communication within country
  • To increase intra-country and inter-country networking among certified producers on programmes that support increased market access for producers
  • To act as a forum to enable effective coordination on Fairtrade standards development and review.
